Obituary for Janice Roberta Little

Janice Roberta Leggitt Little passed on May 5, 2018, in Dripping Springs, Texas, after a short illness. She is survived by two children, Doug A. Little and wife, Margo, of Fredericksburg, TX, and Jane L. Botkin and husband Gary, of Dripping Springs. Jan leaves behind grandsons, Chase Botkin and wife Dara, Joshua Botkin and wife Sarah, Chris Little and wife Yvette, Christian Cordoba, and Nathan Cordoba; granddaughter Marisa Cordoba; and five great-grandchildren. Others who call her Grammie include Michele Locke and husband Rick, Matthew Vann and wife Melanie, and their four sons. Jan was born in Wellington, TX, on April 3, 1926, to Clifford and Olean Baumgardner Leggitt. She attended West Texas State University, earning a degree in home economics in 1946. Afterwards, she taught school in Quail, Groom, and Hereford, TX. She married Donald L. Little in 1947. A thirty-three-year resident of El Paso, TX, Jan was an avid member of the Upper Valley Garden Club and served on the Canutillo ISD school board. As a Wimberley, TX, resident, Jan cofounded the Wimberley Birding Club and Wimberley Valley Genealogy Society. Memories of genealogy trips, traipsing through old cemeteries looking for ancestors, and family stories help create her legacy. When asked what she wanted her children to remember most about her, Jan said that she could grow anything, and she absolutely loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be interred in Wimberley Cemetery after a private family memorial.
