Alice Jean Joy, 75, of Wimberley, TX passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21st, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born in Tulia, TX on April 21, 1941 to Elgan C. "Tootie" Goodman, Sr. and Marie Stanaland Goodman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, E.C. Goodman, Jr. Alice is survived by her loving husband, Dale; son, Joe Joy and his wife, Nancy of Dayton, TX; son, Kirk Joy and his wife, Nina of Baytown, TX; daughter, Janna Irwin and her husband, Mark of Jackson, TN; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Alice married her high school sweetheart in 1957, raised a family of three children and divorced after thirty years. Twenty-three years later she remarried Dale, and they lived happily for seven more years till her death. Alice was an accomplished musician who could be found most Sundays seated at either the piano or organ, leading the church she called "home" in worship. She accomplished so much in her life but none touched the hearts and souls the way her music did. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26th at the Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley, TX. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 27th at the Chapel in the Hills in Wimberley, TX with Rev. Jim Denham officiating.
