Obituary

Amelia Z. Pavia, a resident of San Marcos, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the age of 86. Amelia was born on February 3, 1930 in Maxwell, Texas to Alfonso Zapata and Elvira (Tristan) Zapata. Her loving husband, Luis Pavia, and her son, Luis Pavia, Jr. preceded her in death.

Amelia is survived by her son Raymond Z. Pavia of Houston; her daughter Mary Alice Pavia of San Marcos; her daughter Elvira Rangel and husband Henry of Seguin; her daughter Lupe Gholoom and husband Hussain of Austin; her son Rick Pavia and wife Alice of San Marcos; and daughter Linda Feltner and husband Larry of Austin; her grandchildren, Rene Pavia, Edward Pavia, Enrique Rangel, Joshua Rangel, Melissa Atilano, Laurie Pavia, Bianca Lopez, Ricky Pavia Jr., Madeline Feltner, and Gabriella Feltner; and numerous great grandchildren. Amelia was a loving Mother and Grandma. She was a devout Catholic, who inspired us to always have faith and believe in God. She was the one we all went to for support and prayers in time of need or just to be uplifted. She loved being around her family and loved ones. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, knitting, quilting, gardening, especially spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She will be truly missed. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for the love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Amelia's family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 3:00 P.M. through 9:00 P.M. at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos and a recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 P.M.. The Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 A.M. the following day, Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in San Marcos. Interment will immediately follow at San Juan Cemetery in Prairie Lea. For more information, call Thomason Funeral Home at 512-396-2300 or visit www.thomasonfuneralhome.com to sign the guest book.
