Charles 'Chuck' Hubert Wilkerson Jr., age 56, peacefully joined his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 25, 2016, after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.

Chuck was born on July 13, 1959, to Charles and Peggy Wilkerson in Bishop, Texas. He was preceded in death by his partner of 25 years, David Blackburn, and his grandparents Harry and Alta Pierce and Jesse and Cleo Wilkerson.

Chuck graduated from Bishop High School and as a young adult he was a member of the Bishop volunteer fire department. He obtained his LVN license from Bee County College. He worked as a Human Resource Manager for the South Texas Cancer Center in Austin for 16 years.

The eldest of three children, Chuck will forever be remembered by his devoted brother, Mark (Cindy) Wilkerson, and his loving sister, Jan (Scott) Fairlie. He treasured his nieces and nephews, B.J. (Shauna) Scheible, Hailey (Daniel) Chapman, Ashley Meiner, Mark Allen (Jana) Wilkerson, Benjamin Wilkerson, Christopher (Emily) Wilkerson, Tamara (Hector) Reyna, Jennifer (Travis) Urban, Joanna (Cody) Scheible, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.

Chuck loved listening to country music, camping at Leisure Park in Fentress with his family, laughing, getting his family together as often as possible, and having fun with his many friends. Chuck touched the lives of many people with his smile, love and generosity. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Chuck maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.

Honorary pallbearers are B.J. Scheible, Mark Allen Wilkerson, Benjamin Wilkerson, and Christopher Wilkerson.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 3pm at Thomason Funeral Home, 2001 Old Ranch Road 12, San Marcos, TX 78666. The family requests a donation be sent to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
