Clarence Andrew Wieland II, known to all as “Bubba”, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 in San Marcos at the age of 51. He was born on November 10, 1959 in Austin to Helen Erin Gault and Clarence Andrew Wieland.

Bubba graduated in 1978 from Pflugerville High School and attended Texas Lutheran College. He worked for McCoy’s Building Supply for 31 years. Bubba enjoyed fishing, music, playing the guitar, going to the farm and spending time with family and friends.

Bubba is survived by his bride of 29 years, Bridget E. Wieland, his two sons, Sonny Wieland and wife, Addie, John Wieland and girlfriend, Caitlyn Scott. He is also survived by two sisters, Linda Crofts and husband, Butch, Rosemary Allen and husband, Jack, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by his mother-in-law, Nikki Childers and brother-in-law, Bart Childers and girlfriend, Sarah Goodwin. Bubba is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helen Wieland, his father-in-law, Billie Childers and brother-in-law, Brock Childers.

Bubba never met a stranger, was a friend to all, and cherished those friendships. A friend said, “Wealth is measured by the love you give and receive from others. Bubba is the wealthiest man we know.” His family would like to thank all who have shared his love and his life.

Visitation is Wednesday, October 5th at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos from 6 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6th at First Baptist Church in San Marcos at 2 PM with burial at the San Marcos City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Texas Medical Center Hospice Care, 1315 IH-35 North, San Marcos, TX 78666 or First Baptist Church, 325 W. McCarty Lane, San Marcos, TX 78666.
