Clavio S. Gonzales, Sr. known to many as "Speedy" and longtime resident of Martindale, Texas, died peacefully on July 30, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his beautiful beloved wife, Zinnia Elia Gonzales; his parents, Jesse and Dionicia Gonzales; in-laws Inez and Evelyn Lopez; sister Rosa Nayares, brother Freddy Gonzales, and nephew Nathan Krause.
He is survived by his sisters, Virginia Deleon and husband Ascencion; Yolanda Ramirez and husband Ignacio; Alice Krause and husband Bill. He had five children: Ruth Adams and husband Ernest; Clavio Gonzales Jr. and wife Esmeralda; Jennifer Gonzales, Lorraine Gonzales, and Laura Gonzales; sixteen grandchildren: Nick Torres, Justin Torres, Emily Palacio, Gaby Palacio, Travis Gonzales, Emerald Gonzales, Kenneth Gonzales, Trey, Marisa Guerrero, Jesse Gonzales, Alexis Tovar, Kristin Perez, Danielle Miranda, Madalynn Martinez, Bailey Flores and Benjamin Flores. He also had great-grandchildren that he adored.
He graduated from San Marcos High School then received his certification from a trade school and began his career of many years as a painting contractor. He enjoyed passing his time with family and friends and loved the outdoors, especially by the river in Martindale where he grew up. He was a kind, warm-hearted, giving, and loving person to all who knew him. His love and passion of playing music on the guitar and singing will always be remembered. We will miss him dearly, but he will remain in our hearts forever.
