Obituary

Dorothy Mae (Walker) Williams passed through death into Eternal life on Friday, July 27, 2012 in San Marcos, Texas at the age of 88 from a long battle with heart disease.

Dorothy was born on April 14, 1924 in Wilson County, Texas to the late Reuben and Dovie Denson Walker. Dorothy grew up in Union Valley, Texas. After marrying the late John (Pete) Williams on February 8, 1942, she and John (Pete) lived in Goliad, San Antonio, Victoria, Beeville, George West, Seguin, and San Marcos; always Texas.

Dorothy served in the civil service at Naval Air Station Chase Field in Beeville, Texas and retired in 1985. She and John (Pete) enjoyed their retirement years fishing and traveling throughout the western United States in their fifth-wheeler. Dorothy and John (Pete) enjoyed 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2003.

Dorothy was a member of the First Lutheran Church of San Marcos. Dorothy resided at Stonebrook Senior Community for 8 years until recently.

Dorothy is survived by her son and his wife John David and Lillian Williams of Greenville, South Carolina; her son and his wife Charles and Jill Williams of Wimberley, Texas; six grandchildren Jennifer (husband Joshua) Fitzwater of Greenville, South Carolina; Angela (husband Mike) Takach of Novi, Michigan; John C. Williams, Seth Williams, and Meghan Williams of Wimberley, Texas; and John Edward Williams of Greenville, South Carolina; four great-grandchildren Jacob and Emily Fitzwater of Greenville, South Carolina; and Kaydance and Royce Williams of Wimberley, Texas; two sisters Rose Locke of Corpus Christi, Texas and Donna (husband Earl) Landry of Waelder, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry (Pete) Williams; her parents Reuben and Dovie Walker; her sister Mildred Walker Moore; and her brother William Walker.

Viewing for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday July 31, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home, 2001 Old Ranch Road 12, San Marcos, Texas. Funeral services to immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Thomason Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Walther officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers: John C. Williams and Mike Takach.

Pallbearers: Seth Williams, John Edward Williams, Joshua Fitzwater, Earl Landry, Sr., Earl Landry, Jr., and Gary Angerstein.

Funeral arrangements are being managed by Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos, Texas.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.

Grave-side burial will be at 3 p.m. at the Union Valley Cemetery in Union Valley, Wilson County, Texas.

Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her life long love, Pete; together forever. Dorothy finally caught up.
