Obituary

Isabel Aldape y Avila Jr, was born September 1, 1948 in Crystal City, Texas to Oralia Avila y Rodriguez and Isabel Aldape y Realme, Sr., and was also greeted by his older brother Israel. Graduated from Crystal City High School in 1967, where he was active in football and extracurricular activities; attended Southwest Texas Junior College and Texas State University.

Half of his career was in law enforcement, commissioned as a Special Deputy U.S. Marshal. Later he retired from Texas State University as Director Of Custodial Operations. He was active in his community as a two-term president of the Breakfast Lions Club, who was instrumental in donating $80, 000.00 to Southwest Texas State University to be used for scholarships. Was awarded a lifetime membership in 2009 for his contributions to the Custodial Management Association Of Texas; represented Texas State University in many of the CAPPA's conferences throughout his tenure at Southwest Texas State University as its director of maintenance.

He married Rosa Elia Valdez on December 25, 1970, at the Swindal Memorial Methodist Church in Crystal City, Texas. They had two sons, Adrian (Rosario Flores) and Aaron (Kristina Gonzales) and two grandchildren, Aaron Kalvin and Asa Vera Aldape.

His only brother is Israel Sr. (Juanita Estrada), nieces: Mari Itzel Aldape, Moon Hee Hernandez (Greg), Alison, Deborah Molina (Carlos), Rosa Gamez (deceased), Yolanda Castillo (Eric). nephews: Israel Aldape Jr. (Noemi), Eric Aldape, Alex Valdes (Candice), Matt Valdes (Elizabeth), Rudy Serna (Sandy), Roy Serna, Rick Gamez (Dakora), and Frank Gamez.

Maternal Aunts: Amalia Avila y Rodriguez, (Jesus Guerra -deceased) Alicia Avila y Rodriguez (Juan Herrera), Juanita Rodriguez Avila -deceased (Armando Mendoza), Viola Margot Avila y Rodriguez (Alejo Romero -deceased), Irma Avila y Rodriguez-deceased (Alberto Benavides).

Paternal Aunts: Eulojia Aldape y Realme - deceased (Jesse Serna), and Martha Aldape y Realme (Antonio Uballe-deceased)(Charlie Gillespie-deceased), Noemi Aldape y Ford (Vincent).

Paternal Uncles: Jimmy Aldape y Realme - deceased (Micaela Nieto -deceased)(Flora) Julio Aldape (Ofelia Pulido), Abraham Aldape (Annette).

Maternal Uncles: Carlos Avila y Rodriguez (Elizabeth Romero), Luis Avila y Rodriguez III -deceased (Amelia Mendoza), Eustolio Avila y Rodriguez (Helen Herrera), Everardo Avila (Dora Elia Riojas).

Sisters-In-Law: Alicia Gamez (Frank), Carmen Serna, Juanita Estrada Aldape (Israel) And Brother-In-Law: Alejandro Roberto Valdes (Kyong Suk).

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in 2011 at the El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church. His beloved parents, greeted Isabel at 3:30 am, in spirit, on May 14, 2012. They showed him the glory of God and gave him a kiss and a hug for a job very well done. He will always be with all who knew him. Un gran hijo del pueblo que siempre vivira en nuestro corazon.
