Jake Louis Barber Goodman died on September 14, 2015 at 9:44pm. He was unfortunately taken way too young, only 18 years old, in a tragic automobile accident. Jake was a kind, gentle, yet strong man who touched all of our lives and hearts. He was an explorer with a heart of gold. He loved to travel this beautiful world. He loved the adventure and process of traveling, the excitement you feel, anticipation of getting there. Jake always dressed casual, nice, yet chic when he got on his flights and flew off. He had already been to Australia three times, wanted to go to Russia, traveled and visited Amsterdam, New York, Colorado, Florida, California, New York, the list goes on and on. And therefore he made strong connections and many wonderful friends all of over this world. Jake enjoyed learning and speaking other languages and loved listening to all kinds of music, especially, Russian. He got to finally meet some of his Russian friends in New York this past summer, especially the 5star Family. Vasily, the lead singer became like a brother to him. He loved all of his friends, those here in Wimberley, the state of Washington, where he lived some of his teenage years, New Orleans where he was born and raised most of his life, event through Katrina.
Speaking of birth, he is a New Orleans boy first & forever more, that's what his middle name represents, "Louis" so he could always know wherever he went or traveled that Louisiana was his home. Also, Jake worked very hard at his job at HEB, he was one of the youngest night managers ever hired in the history of HEB. He was very inquisitive, loved to ask questions and engage in conversation with others. He was a people person such a touching young, handsome man with eyes as black as coal, mysterious and soulful one never knew what he was thinking or feeling behind those gorgeous dark eyes. And he had the most beautiful olive skin, Basque heritage, and German along with the other American mix. Jake is and was truly beautiful, not only on the outside, but most importantly within his heart.
Born on October 4th, 1996 and was entombed in St. Louis Cemetery #1 in New Orleans, right down from Marie Laveau, on October 5th, 2015, the day after his birthday. He also rests peacefully here at the Wimberley Cemetery. Jake, my "Bobi," I will miss you sorely, forever in my heart and soul. I will never forget you, nor neither will your family and friends. Jake leaves behind a mother, father, grandfathers , grandmother, brother, sister and so many others. Я буду Ñкучать п..Russian: I will miss you forever! See you on the other side!
