Obituary

MANUELA TRINIDAD BALLES, 72, a resident of San Marcos, Texas, crossed over to be with her LORD on August 16, 2011. She was born August 27, 1938, in Seguin, Texas, to Quirino and Refugia (Luna) Trinidad. Manuela will always be remembered as a hardworking woman who was very dedicated to her family. Her favorite hobby was her family and she enjoyed surrounding herself with all of them from the oldest to the youngest. She will always be known as the “best mother in the world.” Manuela is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of thirty years Guadalupe Caballero Balles, her daughter Irma Balles, her great-granddaughter Rhianna Michelle Balles, and her sister Susie Castillo. She is survived by her children Lupe Balles, Jr., and his wife Anita of San Marcos, Abel Balles and his wife Eva of San Marcos, Yolanda Balles of San Marcos, Ralph Balles and his wife Araceli of San Marcos, Linda Gonzales and her husband Arturo of Kyle, and Albert Balles of San Marcos. Manuela is also survived by her grandchildren Juan Jose (JJ) Balles, Roger Balles, Rene Balles, Abel Balles, Jr., Evelyn Balles, Arturo Gonzales, Jr., Adela Besa, Amelia Okafor, Emilio Gonzales, Steven Smith, Christian Garcia, and Edwin Garcia; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters Dominga Luna and Mariana Luna, and many other loving relatives. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos. A Rosary will be recited that evening at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. The Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011, for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Pedro Cemetery in San Marcos. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Thomason Funeral Home, 2001 Old Ranch Road 12, San Marcos, Texas.
