Margaret Elizabeth (Ledgerwood) Williams passed away March 9, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born in Knoxville, TN in 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dover Williams also of Knoxville, TN. Margaret and Dover moved to Florida in 1964 and then to Austin, TX in 1987. Shortly after Dover's death Margaret moved to San Marcos. There she met Mel Lavergne who was her companion until his death in 2009.
Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved cat, Chevy and with the many friends she had at her senior community. Margaret loved people and enjoyed socializing and participating in numerous activities in her community as well as outings with friends. She enjoyed listening to music and playing the piano. She also loved her volunteer responsibilities during the ten years of service at Central Texas Medical Center. She was a loyal friend and was counted on by many for companionship and support. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Henry and husband, Glenn, Donna Williams and companion John Cangiamila, son, Dover Williams and wife Jan, and by her grandson Kevin Henry and fiancé Lisa and great-grandson Rafa. Also surviving Margaret are several nieces and nephews, including Brent Ledgerwood of Knoxville, TN who stayed in touch and visited and assisted her often. We are deeply appreciative of him.
A celebration of Margaret's life will be held Saturday, March 19th at Stone Brook Senior Community, 300 S. Stagecoach Trail, San Marcos, from 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Margaret can be made to Central Texas SPCA in 909 Bagdad Road, Leander, TX 78641.
