Obituary

MARY ELIZABETH WILLIAMS, 80, peacefully passed into the arms of the Lord on October 29, 2009. She was born September 15, 1929, in rural Cassopolis, Michigan, to Lenn and Edith (Patterson) McIntyre. She and her nine brothers and sisters attended a little country schoolhouse. While Mary was working at a gift shop in 1946, she met a handsome delivery man. Tom Williams had just returned from the war and they were married in January, 1947. Most of their lives were spent in Michigan where Mary worked for the City Manager of East Detroit. She and Tom traveled extensively finding great pleasure in local land and traditions. Following retirement and their eventual move to Wimberley, Texas, Mary devoted her time to helping others through her church and community. She has been an avid fan of football and basketball following her grandsons from pee-wee sports to their involvement as Wimberley Texans. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Thomas J. Williams; brothers Jason McIntyre, Joseph McIntyre; and her sister Sarah Phillips. She is survived by her son Thomas Michael Williams and his wife Ida Brady of Coldwater, Michigan; her daughter Rebecca Marburger and her husband Byron of Wimberley, Texas; her grandchildren Colin James Marburger and John Mason Marburger of Wimberley; her sisters Ann Rohacs, Edith Sharp, Rose Green; and her brothers Jim McIntyre, John McIntyre, and Jerry McIntyre. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at the Wimberley Presbyterian Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Hope Hospice and many friends for their support. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 611 N. Walnut, New Braunfels, Texas, 78130 or to Wimberley Presbyterian Church, Ranch Road 2325, Wimberley, Texas, 78676. God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be, He closed His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me." Funeral arrangements by Thomason Funeral Home, 14700 Ranch Road 12, Wimberley, Texas.
