RUTH MAXINE MADDOX BULLOCK, 91, passed away into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2011. She was born on October 18, 1919, in Belcherville, Texas. She moved with her family to the Stanfield Community in Clay County, Texas, around the age of 6. It was in Clay County that she met the love of her life, John Wesley (Buster) Bullock, Sr. They were married February 12, 1938. That is when the adventure began. Maxine and Buster traveled all over the world. They have lived in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and Luanda Angola in Africa. They made their final residence in Wimberley, Texas. They were long term members of the United Methodist Church of Henrietta, Texas.
Maxine was a very devoted mother and cherished her friendships with both her and her husband's families. She leaves behind her daughter, Emaline Burns and son John Wesley (Buster) Bullock, Jr. both of Wimberley, Texas; grandson Mark Burns of Austin, Texas; granddaughter Kellie Burns of Clearlake, California; and granddaughter Laura Wueste of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, her brother John Clyde Maddox and his wife Betty of Wichita Falls, Texas, and her long time childhood friend Merville Snook of Missouri. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother James Coe Maddox. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. "Max – watch out for rocks in the road."
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Wimberley City Cemetery in Wimberley, Texas.
