Myrtle H. Thomas, a resident of Wimberley, passed away June 1, 2012 at the age of 89. She was born October 11, 1922 in LaGrange, Texas to Fred Hoelter and Frances Roitsch. She was married to Raymond Dale Thomas and had a career as a registered nurse. She served her country proudly as a 1st Lieutenant during World War II in the Army Air Corps.
We want to remember her in the better times, cooking fabulous meals and desserts, tending and arranging flowers, making quilts for children, volunteering at church, walking in a volksmarch, or just welcoming you into her home and heart.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Suggs of Wimberley; nephew, Russell Suggs of Blanco; niece, Roseanne Grissett of Clifton, Texas; nephew, Robert Wimpken of Pennsylvania; and nephew, Melvin Wimpken of St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by sister, Lillian Wimpken.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 4 at 1:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Wimberley. Pastor Jennifer Fuhr was the officiate. Interment followed at Wimberley Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Alzheimer's Association.
