RAYMOND C. BENTLEY, 90, a resident of Wimberley, Texas, passed away April 13, 2010. He was born May 18, 1919, in Joshua, Texas, to Cecil and Ona Lou Bentley. He is an Army-Air Force Veteran having served during World War II. Raymond was City Manager of Burleson, Texas, for many years, and retired as a field agent for the State of Texas Water Quality Board. He will be remembered as a dedicated deacon in the Baptist Church and as being a helpful and dependable person who was quick to help those around him. Raymond’s greatest love in life was his family. His kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his wife of forty-eight years Irene Owens Bentley. Raymond is survived by his son Ron Bentley and his wife Dian of Houston; daughter Robbye Adams of Wimberley; grandchildren Shawn Bentley, Kevin Bentley, Rhonda Holcomb and her husband Anthony, Aaron Polanco, James Polanco and his wife Sabrina, and Staci Adams; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers L.O. “Pete” Bentley and his wife Lucille of Joshua, Texas, Otis Bentley and his wife Marie of Franklin, Tennessee; and his sister Mary Lou Richardson of Ft. Worth. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos, Texas. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, in the Chapel of Thomason Funeral Home.
