Obituary

Sherry A. Burke, 78, of San Marcos, TX joined her heavenly family on Tuesday, October 10th, 2017. Formerly of Dripping Springs and Corpus Christi, Texas, Sherry was always the happiest when she was with her husband of 39 years, Judge John P. Burke, Jr. Her four sons, Aart, Shane, Jay and Jonathan learned to love and live life to the fullest with her guidance.

Our precious Sherry loved unconditionally all who crossed her path.

In our community Sherry served on the Board of Directors for the Burke Center for Youth and was a foster parent for fifteen children over many years. Besides being a world traveler, she was a successful entrepreneur who owned and operated several businesses including an antique store, a bridal shop, and a flower shop. She was also a Real Estate Agent.

Sherry was pre deceased by her parents, Jim and Virginia Riddle, her sister Gae Lee Spaulding and her grandson, Travis Riddle. She is survived by her husband, Judge John P. Burke, Jr., her four sons, Aart (Laurie) Pot, Shane (Connie) Pot, Jay (Brenda) Burke and Jonathan (Korinna) Burke, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, her sisters Sandra DeSosa and Denice (Charles) Pebler, sister in law Rosemary (Charlie) Campise, God daughter Jeanne Arnold, and many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her loyal companion, Skipper.

Her family will receive friends at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos this Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5:00 PM through 9:00 PM, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM, also at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos, prior to interment at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio, Texas.
