Obituary

Steven Torres Castillo, 47 of San Marcos, was called to eternal rest on February 4, 2017 to be with his heavenly father.

He was born on April 19, 1969 in San Marcos. He attended San Marcos High School and graduated with the class of 1987. He was a member of both the Junior Varsity (#70) and Varsity (#62) football team. He also attended Austin Community College and received his associate's degree.

Steven will be remembered for his contagious smile, sense of humor, caring spirit and his unconditional love for his children and family. He was always known to be outgoing and loved to wear his straw cowboy hat, shorts and brown boots, and enjoyed many trips to Whataburger and Conoco. Steven made many friends along the way and made impressions that will last a lifetime.

Steven is survived by his parents, Manuel and Frances Castillo of San Marcos,; his children, Jordan Castillo, Jeremy Castillo and wife Alexis, Jersey and Jaxson Castillo, grandchildren, McKenzie, Jacai, Avori and Zechariah; sisters Vangie Castillo, Mary Ellen Vieyra and husband Tony, Elizabeth Prado and husband Johnny Sr., Rose Trevino and Maribel Castillo; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral arrangements: Pallbearers will be Manuel Prado, Frank A. Arredondo, John Martinez, Ralph Romero, Scott Nathanson, Rick Serna, Nick Perez Jr., and Rick Lewter. His family will receive friends Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a recitation of The Holy Rosary at 7:00P.M. On Thursday, February 9, 2017, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in San Marcos at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale at 11:00 A.M.
