ISABEL T. GARCIA, 68, a life-long resident of San Marcos, passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 7, 2017. She was born July 17, 1948, to Fernando and Rosa G. Trinidad. Isabel earned her Associates Degree in Social Work which she used to work for the Scheib Opportunity Center for 27 years. She enjoyed her job working with the mentally challenged and will always be remembered for her ability to find jobs for everyone, no matter the handicap. Isabel was an advocate and mentor for the underprivileged. Her kind and generous heart even went out to the many stray animals she would find throughout town and made sure they had food to eat. Isabel was very active in the Catholic Church, especially Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel. She was a past president of the Guadalupanas, past president of the neighborhood association, and a member of the Women's American G.I. Forum. Isabel was a world traveler having traveled extensively throughout her lifetime. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Natividad Garcia; her infant daughter Baby Garcia; her grandson Benjamin Soto; and her brothers Simon Trinidad, Sr. and Jake Trinidad, Sr. Isabel is survived by her son Richard T. Garcia and his wife Sonia; her daughters Nelda T. Garcia and husband Richard Chavez, and Naomi T. Sauceda and husband Mario; her grandchildren Delayna Chavez, Diego Chavez, Andrew Sauceda, Marcos Sauceda; and her foster-son Nim. She is also survived by her sisters Ofelia T. Vasquez-Philo, Ruth T. Ferrer, Alice T. Hurtado, Emma Trinidad, Frances T. Sierra, Rose T. Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear close friends, and her dog companion Genius lovingly called "GG." The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Alpar, Dr. Michelle Rodriguez, the staff of Seton Hays and Seton Austin, Warm Springs Rehabilitation of Kyle and Luling, San Marcos Rehabilitation, and Fresenius Dialysis for their love and care they provided to Isabel. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos. A Rosary will be recited that evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Richard T. Garcia, Daniel T.
