Obituary

Bernice Gerta Melita Randow daughter of Theo and Gerta (Voss) Kohlenberg passed away in Kerrville on May 19, 2017 at the age of 94. Bernice was born in Galle, Texas on October 9, 1922. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Paul Randow; her parents, and her sister Ruth Arlitt. She was a devoted and loving wife to Louis for 67 years and 7 months, and proud mother of their daughter Charlene (Tommy), and 2 sons, Glenn (Linda), and Aaron (Camille). Bernice loved her six grandchildren, Cheryl, Arlene, Craig, Josh, Blake and Meredith; and nine great grandchildren. In 1955, Louis, Bernice and family moved from the family farm in Hayes County into the town of San Marcos where they spent the next 50 years. During this time, Bernice took care of children in her home and worked at Wuest's Grocery store in San Marcos. The last 3 years she lived at Hilltop Village in Kerrville, Texas. Prior to that, she lived with son Glenn in Harper, Texas, and daughter, Charlene and Tommy in Bulverde, Texas. Over the years, she loved spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, working in her garden, walking, cooking, dancing, and attending Herman Sons and the Maxwell Social Club in the San Marcos area. Visitation and Service will be held at Thomason Funeral Home, 2001 Old Ranch Road #12, San Marcos, Texas, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10:00 with Service at 11:00. Burial will follow at San Marcos Cemetery. The family would like to thank Hilltop Village and Hospice in Kerrville for their care.
