Obituary

Patricia “Pat” Bishop passed away the morning of Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in San Marcos, Texas. Pat was surrounded by her family as she passed away peacefully. While Texas had been home for most of Pat’s life, the Bishop family lived in Alaska for over 20 years. Pat had a large network of friends and loved ones in both Texas and Alaska. While not adventurous by nature, Pat and her family had the wonderful opportunity to move to Alaska in 1976. After 20 wonderful years in Alaska, Pat and Hebert “Hit” moved back to Texas and settled in Wimberley. Pat’s greatest accomplishments in life revolved around her family and friends. Everyone who met Pat instantly realized her sweet and caring nature; she never met someone she didn’t love, or who didn’t love her. Pat and her husband of 63 years, Hit Bishop, have three children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Pat is survived by her husband, Hit Bishop of Wimberley, TX; her children, Theresa and Pat Parente of North Pole, AK; and William and Deena Bishop of Anchorage, AK; her grandchildren, Laura and Tyler Ray of Lakeville, MN; Patty and Sam Pitka of Lakeville, MN; Timothy Bishop of Brooklyn, NY; Jeremy and Chad Bishop of Spokane, WA; Perri Paramo of Wasilla, AK; and Merit Paramo of Dallas, TX; and her great-grandchildren, Xander, Charley, and Wake Ray, and Cooper and Colbey Pitka of Lakeville, MN. Pat was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Glenn Bishop, of Anchorage, AK, and Murray and Phyllis of Baytown, TX. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Chapel in the Hills or Wimberley United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held on Monday September 25, at The Chapel in the Hills church at 14601 Ranch Road 12 North, Wimberley, at 11am. Reception will follow the service.
