Obituary

Our beloved mother, Carolyn Hart, has died. Hers was a long and good life of caring service. She would not want a “big deal” to be made of this, but she would agree that we are all existing examples to our fellow humans. It is with that in mind that we remember her in this way. First, she took good care of us, our father, and our extended family. She spent many distinguished years as an educator of young children in AISD and young adults at the University of Texas. She realized that we are all individuals with unique learning needs. After moving to Wimberley, she cared for our father in his last days, for her dear neighbors, for her beloved dog, Jacques, for Wimberley in numerous volunteer efforts, and for the wider human and non-human world through large charitable gifts. About this point in the composition Carolyn Hart, the talented writer, would probably advise us that we are in danger of losing our readers, John wants to risk this, however, because of the unique gift she gave him by allowing him to spend the last four years with her. She was ever-mindful of his welfare and unfailingly grateful for another “good day” as she went off to bed. She would want others to remember her by caring for other people and other life.
-Dan and John Hart
