Jerry Wayne Wilcox 78, of Wimberley, died January 10, 2018. Jerry was born January 14, 1939 in Troy, Texas to Bennie and Eva Wilcox. Jerry grew up in Houston, Texas graduating from Galena Park High School. Upon graduating he joined the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life Elaine Warren Wilcox on October 29,1960 and moved to Long Beach California. Upon returning to Texas he was employed by Armco Steel before going to barber school. He moved to Austin to open his own barber shop El Cid’s Mens Hair Styling. After opening several Buns Hamburger restaurants, he worked in the restaurant service industry before returning to barbering. He retired in 2017 after owning Jerry’s Barber Shop in Wimberley. Jerry is survived by his wife Elaine, son Bryan Wilcox and wife Lisa of Bee Cave, son Brad Wilcox and wife Donna of Marble Falls, and daughter Brenda Turner and husband Danny of Johnson City. Two brothers Bobby Wilcox and wife Susie of Pearland, and James Wilcox and wife Kitty of Helotes. Six grandchildren Alicia Percivill and husband BrIan of Bee Cave, Bryson Wilcox of Fairplay, Colorado, Casey Wilcox and fiancé Philip Douglas of Wimberley, Taylor Turner and fiancé Kaleb Syring of Johnson City. Kendal Turner of, Johnson City and Christian Wilcox of Marble Falls. Two great-grandchildren Kaycee Percivill and Kaitlee Percivill. Sister-in-law Mona Warren of Houston and brother-in-law John and wife Sandra of Orange. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Eddie Warren. A life celebration gathering will be held on January 20, 2018 at the River Inn Resort in Hunt, Texas, a long-time family gathering place. The family extends sincere gratitude to the attending Hays County Sheriff's Dept. and Wimberley EMS. In lieu of flowers, donations to are requested.
