Robert Mesa, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. He was born in New Braunfels, Texas to Rufino and Martha Mesa. He was the beloved father of Greg Mesa, Yvette Mesa, and Laura Pfeil. Robert is survived by his wife, Anna Mesa, of 35 years. He leaves behind five grandchildren: Briana, Christian, Wyatt, Sierra, Nicole; sons-in-law Jeremy Marston and Richard Pfeil; and daughter-in-law Jodie Mesa.
An educated man, he graduated high school from New Braunfels and went on to receive his Bachelors of Education and Masters of Counseling from Southwest Texas State University. He served as a Teacher at Gary Job Corp for 46 years.
Robert had a magnetic personality; bringing joy and happiness to those around. He never met a stranger. He had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel with his family and friends. He used to say, “life is short, let’s do and see things while we still can.” And this he did, until the day he died. When at home he could be found attending to the garden alongside his wife, walking the 6 -mile route in Staples, or on the phone keeping in touch with others. His was an extremely determined man, never letting anything stand in his way when he set his mind to accomplish something. He encouraged others to do the same and was a role model to many people. Every minute of his life was well spent. No regrets.
