Betty Jo Epperson, 92, went home to heaven November 14, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. Epperson, her parents Elmer and Alice Frashier, her brothers L.D. Frashier and Gordon Frashier and her sister Claudine Balch. She is survived by her children Gary Epperson and wife Vickie Epperson of Jacksboro, TX, Scott Epperson and wife Donna of Georgetown, TX, John Epperson of Brenham, TX and Betty Ann Epperson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, along with 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. Betty was born and raised in Pampa, TX and live the majority of her life there. She had lived the last 20 years in the Austin, TX area with family. She was a long time member of the Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ while living in Pampa and attended both Southern Hills Church of Christ and Westside Church of Christ while living in the Austin, TX area. She was a faithful and devoted Christian her entire life. After graduating from Pampa High School she married W.C. Epperson and she worked along beside him farming. As a young homemaker she was active in the Gray County Extension Service winning County Conservation Homemaker of the Year in 1960. She drove a school bus while her children were in school. She worked at Brown and Freeman Men’s Clothing Store for many years and loved meeting, greeting and helping those who came in. Betty loved people and serving others. Among her last jobs in Pampa was working for Sheppard’s Accounting Service. Betty loved taking photographs of her family and therefore left her family history behind in those precious pictures. She told numerous stories about her growing up in the Texas Panhandle and once said that all she ever wanted was to be a “Good Christian Girl”. Betty highly succeeded in that goal, loving her God, her family and everyone she met. She will be sorely missed by her presence here on earth by her family and friends but they can all rejoice that she is finally home in heaven with her God and family there.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Memory Gardens in Pampa, TX, at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning, November 19, 2018.
