Obituary for Carroll Edwin Morris

CarrolI Edwin Morris passed away peacefully Saturday, February 23, at Country Village Care in Angleton, TX. at the age of 91. He will be missed by his family and friends. Carroll was bom in San Angelo, TX on April 29,1927, to Clell and Beulah Morris.
He Is proceeded In death by his wife of 64 years Lillian Wolbrecht Morris.
Carroll and his parents moved to Camp Chemical in Freeport, TX in 1941, so his father could help build the Magnesium plant at Dow for the war effort
Carroll attended Freeport High School from 1944 to 1945 and played football for Coach Herbert Hopper. In July, 1945, Carroll joined the Merchant Marines and traveled the globe visiting many ports while delivering goods by ship. In September 1950, he joined the US. Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, OK, for 2 years.
In December of 1950, Carroll and Lillian Wolbrecht were married. They left San Antonio, TX, in 1956, and moved to Lake Jackson, TX. CarrotI went to work for Dow Chemical and \ retired from Dow in 1986, with 30 years of service.
Carroll and Lillian lived in Sweeny, TX, Wimberley TX. and Canyon Lake, TX. before returning to Lake Jackson In 2011.
Carroll is survived by his 4 children, Payton Reynolds and wife Doris of San Antonio, Jennifer Williamson and husband Al of Channetview TX., Tommy Morris and wife Debra of Lake Jackson TX, and Vicki Tuscana and husband Jimmy of Sweeny, Tx.
Carroll Is also survived by his brother Wayne Morris of Sweeny, TX.
Carroll has 11 grandchildren, Brian Reynolds of San Antonio, Cheryl Kohlenberg of San Antonio, Michelle Vlgue of New Braunfels, Lathan McDonald of Buna, Shannon Harris of Baytown, Stanley Williamson of New Orleans LA., Jeff Morris of Philadelphia PA., Andy Morris of Portland OR., Kathy Day of Lake Jackson, Kay Hinson of Tyler and Jim Tuscana of Sweeny.
Carrol has 6 great- grandchildren and 1 great- greatgrandchild.
Carroll enjoyed square dancing, making the 6.2 mile wafts as a member of the "Happy Hikers", wood working and traveling with his wife Lillian.
Visitation will be held Thursday 2/2811:00am at Thomason Funeral Home, Wimberley TX. followed by a graveside service at 12:00 Wimberley Cemetery .
