Patricia Margaret Lyon
March 14th, 1936 – November 20th, 2018
Born in Princeton New Jersey, she was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1953 at Boerne High School, where she was involved with Piano, Ballet, tennis and classical music. She enrolled in the Plan 2 Honors Program with the University of Texas pursuing a major in Microbiology with a minor in chemistry. There she met her husband Jose Antonio Lyon III and on September 7th, 1957 they were married in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, Texas.
Later that summer, after graduation, she accompanied Jose to his new job in Venezuela. In Venezuela they lived in a small mining town by the name of Ciudad Piar. While living there, their first child, Jose Antonio IV was born. There second son, Eduardo Alejandro was born February 1st 1961. A few years later they moved to Maracaibo, until Jose retired.
In 1995, they moved to Wimberley Texas where they built their new home, and settled down until her passing.
She was active in St. Mary Catholic Church in Wimberley, Texas. She participated in the Monday Women’s Bible study group, was a lector, was president of the Ladies Guild, and was a housewife. She was a gourmet chef, an amateur astronomer, and avid bird watcher.
And although she never joined, she was eligible to be a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved travelling, and travelled throughout North and South America, Asia, and Europe.
She was Bilingual (English/Spanish) and reading was one of her many passions. She also dabbled in the arts. Her biggest love was her family and her faith.
This year she celebrated her 61st wedding anniversary with her lifelong companion, Jose. She is survived by her husband Jose Antonio III, her sons Eduardo and Jose Antonio IV, and her grandchildren, Michelle and Kenneth.
