Beatrice Murillo Cavazos passed away September 27th 2016 at the age of 85 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Cavazos, her companion, Gordon Wise, and her parents, Fausto and Maria Murillo.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Minus of Magnolia, her grandsons, Jason Minus and Mikel Minus, and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Rosa Sanchez of Laredo and Eva Sanchez of San Marcos, and by her brother, Edward Murillo of San Antonio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was full of life and enjoyed her community involvement, including cooking menudo with her sister, Eva, for seven years at the Kick Off Party for Viva Cinco de Mayo.
Beatrice graduated from San Marcos High and Southwest Texas State Teacher's College.
She was crowned in 1947, at the age of 17, Queen of Diez y Seis de Septiembre Fiesta.
Beatrice worked for H.E.B. Grocery Store for 30 years and retired in 1998. Her favorite things were Barbie dolls, jewelry, and Elvis.
She will be missed because of her beautiful smile and her graciousness.
