Ida Idell Falk Tenny lived a brilliant, vibrant life from May 5th, 1942 to September 21st, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was beloved by many, and all who met her can recall when they were touched by her grace and kindness. Known to many as ‘Nanny’, her joy and her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren.
Ida first met her husband Rick while reigning as queen of propane and propane accessories at Wimberley Hydro-Gas. The pair soon fell in love, married, and started their own pool company, Tenny’s Hill Country Pools and Spas. From children to dear friends, the pool company was the quintessential family business, and is still operated by a family friend to this day. When living life in a small town became a little too serene, the duo took to the road. Ida served as Rick’s co-pilot for the delivery of everything from electronics, to household items, and even a Renoir and Rembrandt. After they had their fill of adventures, the pair came home and have been retired since 2009.
Ida is survived by her husband, Arthur (Rick) Tenny; her son Michael Rybarski and his wife Carol, her daughters Shelly Hicks and Kelly Ann Tenny, and honorary daughter Angela Kilgore; her grandchildren, Camie Sherman and her husband Adam, Shelby Springs, and Kyle Hicks; her great-grandchildren Cooper and Addison Sherman; and her siblings Douglas Mewis, Otto Falk Jr, Erma Coskey, Larry Falk, and Jeff Falk.
Ida was preceded in death by her daughter Alisa Marie Rybarski, and her parents Otto and Lottie Falk.
