Obituary for Clinton Earl Payne

Clinton Earl Payne passed from this life to life everlasting on February 18, 2019. He was born January 25, 1951, in Matador, Texas. Earl graduated from Flomot High School and thereafter went to work. He had a knack for being able to do all kinds of things with his hands, spending his adult years working in the great outdoors in farming and related agricultural businesses. Until his recent retirement, Earl was employed by Interment Services Inc. for 16 years performing burial services around the greater Austin area for other families during their time of need. Earl enjoyed coaching youth sports when his children were young, and later fishing, watching corny westerns, and challenging his opponents in a highly charged game of Canasta. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – listening to music, spending time with his family and watching the hummingbirds at the feeder on a summer evening while he sipped a Diet Coke. He was a member of First Baptist Church Kyle and dearly loved his church family and especially enjoyed being in his Sunday School class each week. Earl was a devoted and faithful son, husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his needs last so that he could provide for others first.

Preceding Earl in death were his parents, H.E. and Skeet Payne, and brothers Cecil Payne and Lonnie Payne. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ann, his children, Clinton and wife Ileana, Darren and wife Trisha, Lana and husband Caleb, six grandchildren, Mikhail, Kaitlyn, Brenna, Cy, Coy, and Axie, and sister Donna and her husband Danny, numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Pallbearers are: Mikhail Rocamora, Caleb Stracener, Ken Jones, James Hill, James Polk, and David Freeman.
